The National Eligibility Test (NET), organised by the University Grants Commission (UGC), is an exam which is conducted across 91 cities in India, across 84 subjects. This is taken up by the students who either want to pursue their career in lectureship, or who opt for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). The JRF exam can be taken by candidates with a maximum age limit of 30 (age relaxation as per government norms is valid). However, lectureship does not have any age restrictions.
